Monday Night Round up
Sayanasana, fifteen out of 60 on the scale of difficulty  My elbows have way too much rugburn to believe this is only 15!  In any event, I love practicing this asana.  I think that the the inverted-backbend-chin-balance does something to my brain and makes me giddy.  I just recently found my balance in pincha, and I’m thinking that sayanasana might be manageable with practice—and...

Monday Night Round Up
Its a twist! Its an arm balance! Its a standing pose! Its VISVAMITRASNA! When doing this sequence, observed how every asana relates to visvami To the best of my recollection, here’s what we did Supta pada I, concentrate on opening hips & stretching hammies Uttanasana, but against the wall, legs at a slant, lift the toes, but do not give up an inch of the height of your butt on the...

Simply Delicious Warm Kale Salad
luxhippie: This is one of my fast and easy go-to recipes. I can run home in between classes and make is for lunch with no time-crunch. It’s a salad that doesn’t feel like you’re eating a “salad”. It’s also the type of salad that you can make for lunch the night before. Since kale is so rugged, it holds up overnight and doesn’t get soggy like most greens would. Just pop it in the microwave the...

What has Clubasana been practicing lately?
Laghu Vajrasana registers as 23* on BKS Iyengar’s 60* scale of difficulty. Ah, if this is 23, I am SO far behind in my practice!! Laghu means “little, small, easy as well as lovely, handsome, beautiful” and vajra means thunderbolt. This week clubasana worked on kapotasana, and dreamt of laghu vajrasana, as well as lower backs that didn’t kink up! (yes yes, lift the hips, easier said than...
